The availability of energetic resources has allowed the economical development of the society, however, its non rational use has generated more issues of climate change, over exploitation of natural resources, deforesting, global heating and social non-equilibrium.
In Latin America, there is instability of the energetic market due to changes of the international price of oil, scarcity of natural resources, a deficit of the commercial balance tilted towards non essential goods consumption and the lack of investment to search more clean energetic alternatives that could improve the quality of life of urban and even more the rural population frequently ignored by the experts of energetic policies.
The second International Symposium of energy points towards consolidates the world energetic agenda, to achieve the reduction of the consumption of fossil fuels and to encourage the rational and efficient use of energy. Our intention is to share national and international experiences, with the commitment of the university and the participation of the society, getting better tools for planning and implementing structural energetic solutions in the rural sector.
